The Advising Center wants to help you make informed decisions as you progress toward graduation. MACM students often ask these questions:
1. What do I need to know as I plan toward completing the MACM degree?
|Face to face requirement||at least 22 hours|
|Location||anywhere at least 49% of the course is face to face with the professor|
|Courses for which to watch out(Work with Academic and the WM department to plan your degree.)||Required and elective WM courses are typically offered fall and spring in Dallas, DC, and Houston. Watch for these in winter and summer sessions in Dallas, DC, or Houston.|
|Time Limit||7 years from the start of your first course at DTS|
|Satisfactory Progress||10 hours per calendar year|
|International Students||F-1 and J-1 Visa students are required to study in Dallas.|
See the course schedule to better understand DTS course offerings.
Ministry Formation Internship Prerequisites:
|Options||When to start?||Course Prerequisites||Number of Semesters|
|INT140 Ministry Formation Internship||After completion of 30 hours||SF100-1, WM205||2|
Distance and online students should check the course schedule for WM required and elective courses; on the Dallas, DC, and Houston campuses, each registration period (October for winter and spring; March for summer and fall). Prioritize these and then look for required BE and ST courses that you can take face to face. Do not rush through the BE and ST courses online. Instead, start face to face courses your first year.
We have created a plan which allows students to satisfy residency and World Missions requirements for the MACM while spending only two semesters in Dallas, if students can complete SF110 Spiritual Formation (talk with SF staff) before this year and finish the ministry formation internship after this year.
