The Advising Center wants to help you make informed decisions as you progress toward graduation. MAMW (formerly MAMC) students often ask these questions:

Locationanywhere at least 49% of the course is face to face with the professor
Required CoursesMW101 and MW103 are typically offered in Dallas during the fall and spring semesters; respectively. Look for an RV
Media Arts ElectivesMW2xx Immersive Courses count as face to face; other electives are offered during fall/spring semesters in Dallas
Time Limit7 years from the start of your first course at DTS
Satisfactory Progress10 hours per calendar year

See the course schedule to better understand DTS course offerings.
2. How do I meet my 22-hour face to face requirement?

The BE and ST courses are the easiest to complete face to face, so do not rush through these online. Instead, start taking face to face courses your first year.

Due to the availability of required (MW101 and MW103) and elective Media Arts and Worship courses, students should be aware that it is easiest to earn the MAMW by relocating to the Dallas campus.

3. How do I choose my electives?

Students must select 15 total Media Arts and Worship elective hours from among MW courses. For a current listing of approved electives, see the most recent catalog.

Students in the MAMW program should seek guidance from professors in the Media Arts & Worship department regarding the courses that will best prepare them for their desired ministry context.

4. How do I complete my Media Arts Apprenticeship (formerly Internship)?
The Media Arts Apprenticeship (MW102) is the capstone experience of the MAMW program, which includes the development and enhancement of media-related communication skills and/or worship design and implementation in a ministry context. Students should select their apprenticeship site and mentor in conversation with professors in the Media Arts and Worship department after the completion of 30 credit hours.
