The 2025 $500 Near Campus Rent Special is a one-time rent special offered to 20 new students relocating to Dallas for in-person classes in the Fall 2025-Spring 2026 term. Awarded students will receive a flat $500 rent rate at a select DTS Near Campus Partner for the duration of the Special!*
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen or naturalized US resident;
- Must be accepted into a Master’s, PhD, or EdD degree program;
- Must be new to taking classes on the Dallas Campus;
- Must be enrolled in two (2) in-person classes on the Dallas campus during both Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 terms; and
- Must sign a lease with a select DTS Near Campus Partner for an eligible unit that starts no earlier than May 1, 2025.
*Because market rent rates fluctuate, eligible apartments are subject to additional approval and the final amount awarded may vary. Upon selection, Housing will pay the Near Campus Partner the scholarship award amount every month until the end of the lease or June 30, 2026, whichever comes first. The resident is responsible for paying the remaining rent plus fees and utilities.
Application Process
Before applying for this scholarship, first Apply for an eligible Near Campus apartment.
Applicants must begin by submitting an application with a Near Campus Partner for one of the following eligible apartments*:
- Vue Live Oak’s Kirby, Parker, Abilene, and Granbury apartments
- Vue Fitzhugh’s Baylor apartment
- Coronado’s A1 and A2 apartments
*Eligible apartments are subject to final approval during Stage 1 due to the fluctuation of market rent rates.
Stage 1: Submit the $500 Near Campus Scholarship Form.
Select “Stage 1 – I am applying for the Scholarship” and fill out the necessary information.
Our Near Campus Partner will also reach out to confirm with us that you have submitted an application for an eligible apartment.
Stage 2: Sign the Student Contract for the $500 Near Campus Scholarship.
If your application is approved, you will receive a scholarship offer in your Dallas Seminary email inbox. This offer will outline the specific details of the scholarship offered, and will attach a student contract for you to sign.
Your next step is to sign the contract and re-submit your $500 Near Campus Scholarship Form. Select “Stage 2 – I have signed the Student Contract” and attach your signed student contract. Do not email the signed contract.
Stage 3: Sign your Lease and submit it for payment processing.
The final step in your application process is to submit the $500 Near Campus Scholarship Form a third time, this time with the signed and executed lease for your new apartment.
Select “Stage 3 – I have signed a Lease” and attach your executed lease. This lease should be signed by both you and the Near Campus Partner’s Leasing Office to be fully executed.
Without a fully executed lease, we will not be able to process your scholarship payments to the Near Campus Partner. Please plan ahead and ensure that you submit the executed lease at least two weeks prior to the first day you would like the Partner to receive the first scholarship payment.
