Health insurance is required for all Seminary students. DTS has chosen Academic HealthPlans to provide student insurance. To find information about coverage and claims, please visit Academic Health Plans.
All students taking six or more credit hours and all PhD students taking three or more credit hours are required to purchase this insurance unless proof of comparable coverage is furnished by the end of September each year. The six credit hour minimum eligibility requirement can be met through a combination of online and on-campus classes, with at least three hours taken on-campus. Online-only students do not qualify for student insurance.
All International students taking one or more credit hours are required to purchase the insurance plan unless proof of comparable coverage is furnished by the end of September of each year.
A student must actively attend classes for at least the first 31 days after the date for which coverage is purchased unless he or she withdraws from classes due to an injury or sickness and the absence is an approved medical leave.
