A Letter from the President

For all DTS women students, a special invitation:

Whether you are embarking on a new journey through seminary or have been here for a while, there is a special place among the women students just for you—a place where you can meet and fellowship with women from all backgrounds and degree programs with a common love for our Savior, and desire to grow in doctrinal truth; a safe place to have tough questions answered over a casual meal and dive deeper into what it looks like to be a woman in seminary now and for ministry in the future.

I personally want to invite you to join us. Come alongside the women here who are navigating the waters of higher Christian learning and who share similar struggles and celebrate in each other’s victories. ARISE offers an outlet for you to connect with current students, alumni, and female faculty who offer invaluable perspectives and wisdom from their own journeys.

There is a unique place here for you as a female image bearer of God—a place to connect and be known. Opportunities to engage with the ARISE student ministry include monthly topical luncheons, a Winter Retreat to regroup and be blessed with deeper fellowship, and a Spring Chapel hosted by your ARISE Women Student Fellowship board.

I personally want to extend a further invitation for you to pray about where your gifts could be used to minister to the women at Dallas Theological Seminary. At the heart of our group is a desire to serve our peers in ways that empower, educate, and evidence our love for the Lord while supporting each other in the diverse calling He has placed upon us as individuals. And who knows. It just may be that you were placed here “for such a time as this.”

From the entire ARISE board, welcome. We can’t wait to meet you!

Alisha Smith
ARISE President

Mission Statement

  • To cultivate unity within the body of women—and within the student body, the Seminary, and the Body of Christ—through open dialogue on relevant issues, providing leadership and serving opportunities for women students; and
  • To celebrate diversity through the promotion of authentic relationships as we equip, prepare, and launch into our callings.

Vision Statement

To be a God-glorifying, connected, engaged, and encouraged community of women students at Dallas Theological Seminary.

Arise, shine; for your light has come,
And the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.

Isaiah 60:1 (NASB)

ARISE @ New Student Orientation

Arise welcomes all new women students to join us! We present opportunities for our board to serve you and for you to serve with us. This is an exciting time for us to encourage, embrace and pray for you. During this event, we introduce you to campus life and share DTS resource information for women.

This is our monthly forum to learn/discuss topics relevant to women students. We help prepare and equip you for ministry, business, and academics, in the U.S. and around the world. Speakers we invite include women leaders who have embrace God’s calling on their lives and step out in faith for His glory.
