But I do not consider my life worth anything to myself, so that I may finish my task and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the good news of God’s grace.

Acts 20:24 (NET Bible)

To equip students to be effective evangelists.

DEF envisions …

  • Students being bold evangelists who are equipped to lead their local churches in evangelism;
  • A campus-wide culture of passionate devotion to the proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ;
  • Leading dozens of unbelievers in the city of Dallas to faith in Christ each year; and,
  • Persuading every believer we encounter to faithfully attend a local church and obediently serve the Lord Jesus with his or her life.

  • Dependency on prayer & the Holy Spirit
  • Teaching & modeling of evangelism
  • Faithfulness to the Gospel
  • Cultural awareness & engagement with our neighbors
  • Self-sacrifice by regularly proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ

We will …

  • Teach students a variety of culturally relevant, conversational, and relational methods in evangelism;
  • Model for students how to evangelize before inviting them to try it for themselves;
  • Openly reflect and discuss what we learned from the prior week’s outreach;
  • Provide practical tools to aid in evangelism;
  • Plan and lead weekly evangelistic outreaches to demographically diverse locations in the Dallas area;
  • Create a safe environment for students to sharpen their skills in evangelism; and,
  • Foster an attitude of prayerful dependency on the Holy Spirit for effective evangelism.
