City Square Food Pantry

More than 300,000 people live in poverty in Dallas. CitySquare makes it their mission to change that–fighting the causes & effects of poverty through service, advocacy, & friendship. Volunteers will be moving items from the warehouse to the food pantry’s shopping area.

Gateway of Grace

Gateway of Grace provides English as a Second Language, citizenship classes, & children’s educational programs for refugee families. The sovereign Lord has brought these families to us for the purposes of healing, restoration & experiencing Christ’s love. Volunteers will assist with assembling food for refugees for Thanksgiving.

Gloryland Express

Gloryland Express reaches children with the gospel through visitation, chapels, Wednesday night bus routes, and youth retreats. They also establish bus ministries in local churches. At Thanksgiving & Christmas, the love of Jesus is shared with over 150 children. Volunteers will set up for Wednesday night outreach.

Hidalgo Ministries

Hidalgo Ministries focuses on spiritually& socially transforming the community through kids clubs, teen groups, Club Hidalgo online, & more to reflect Christ in the community through the power of the Holy Spirit. Volunteers will help with the Fall Fun Fest located in Chapel Creek Apartments.

Luke’s Closet

Luke’s Closet provides clothing, linens, & small household items to currently enrolled students, faculty, & staff who temporarily do not have adequate resources to provide enough for their family’s needs. Volunteers will be assisting our DTS community as they shop.

Luke’s Pantry provides food to all currently enrolled students to supplement grocery needs. The amount of food offered is based on the size of the dependent family. Volunteers will be serving families as they shop.

Mercy Street

Mercy Street exists to cultivate mutually transforming relationships with inner-city youth through Christian mentorship. Volunteers will help with preparations for an upcoming luncheon.

Northwest – Homework Help

Northwest Community Center aids, empowers, and invites refugees to start a new life & thrive in a new culture. Volunteers will be helping refugee children from grades 1-5 with their reading & math homework.

Northwest Community Center aids, empowers & invites refugees to start a new life & thrive in a new culture. Volunteers will be helping with after-school and youth discipleship programs.

OurCalling – Outreach

Permanent solutions to homelessness are not easy or quick. OurCalling begins with a meal, but they don’t stop there. They build relationships, trust & custom exit strategies for each person to get out of homelessness for good. Volunteers will be reaching out to the unsheltered homeless neighbors.

Polished

Polished emboldens women in their faith and work so women can live the lives they were meant for–emboldened in their faith and creating an impact with their work. Volunteers will help sort, organize, & store items after their Boldly Conference.

Pregnancy Resource Center

Pregnancy Resource Center offers free, accurate pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, & prayer. The gospel is shared with every client. Volunteers will be assembling Diaper Bags for new moms & their new babies!

Storey Lane Independent Living

Storey Lane Independent Living (SLIL) promotes independent living for all adults, regardless of their abilities by challenging stereotypes & promoting inclusivity. Volunteers will be supporting our disabled neighbors by enhancing their living spaces through painting common areas & hallways.

Vickery Trading Company

Vickery Trading Company is a nonprofit social enterprise that trains refugee women to sew to prepare them for the professional workforce. Women also receive holistic services such as English classes, financial literacy & case management support. Volunteers will be helping reorganize and clean offices, prepare donor gifts, and help refugee associates practice English.
