The purpose of the Ministry Formation Department is to create and foster contextualized learning experiences that enable students to integrate courses and practice by partnering with the Holy Spirit, students, internship sites, and course work.
Courses
Supervised field-based education in the student’s intended vocational ministry context under the supervision and encouragement of an experienced ministry mentor. Enrollment limited to ThM students and requires consent of the Ministry Formation staff. Prerequisites: Satisfactory completion of half of their ThM requirements, including PM5103 Expository Preaching I, BC5101 Pastoral Counseling, and SF5100 Spiritual Formation. 3 hours.
Supervised field-based education in the student’s intended vocational ministry context under the supervision and encouragement of an experienced ministry mentor. Enrollment limited to MACL students and requires consent of the Ministry Formation staff. Prerequisites: Satisfactory completion of half of their DTS coursework, including EML5101 Designing and Leading Effective Ministries and progress toward completion of SF5100 Spiritual Formation. 3 hours.
Supervised field-based education in one or more forms of Christian education ministry and educational leadership under the supervision and encouragement of an experienced ministry mentor. Enrollment limited to MACE students and requires consent of the Ministry Formation staff. Prerequisites: Satisfactory completion of half of their DTS coursework, including EML5101 Designing and Leading Effective Ministries and progress toward completion of SF5100 Spiritual Formation. 2 hours.

Prerequisite: Satisfactory completion of half of their DTS coursework, including ST5605 Apologetics, PM5101 Christian Life and Witness, and progress toward completion of Spiritual Formation. 2 hours.

Prerequisites: Satisfactory completion of half of their DTS course work, including BC5701 Chaplaincy Orientation and Ethics, BC5305 Practicum 1, and progress toward completion of Spiritual Formation. 3 hours.
Supervised field-based education in cross-cultural TESOL classroom situations in a foreign country or the United States under the supervision and encouragement of an experienced ministry mentor. Enrollment limited to TESOL Certificate students and requires consent of the Ministry Formation staff. Prerequisite: MIM5620 Dynamics of TESOL. 1 hour.
