Moving In

Welcome to DTS Campus Housing!

Congratulations on signing a lease with DTS Campus Housing! Whether you are a new resident or a resident transferring from a different unit, please refer to the below guidelines for moving into a new apartment.

Your Move-In Date

You should have already scheduled your move-in as a part of the offer acceptance process. As a reminder, you may not move anything into your apartment prior to your scheduled move-in time. If circumstances arise such that you must reschedule your move, please do so using the link at the bottom of the confirmation email you received for your current move-in date. You will be charged a $50 fee for rescheduling, and you may not reschedule your move to a date earlier than the availability date given in your offer letter. If you have questions, please contact the Campus Housing Office.

Prior to Moving In

  1. Pay your Security Deposit and first month’s Rent: You cannot receive your apartment keys until these are paid in full in your online portal.
  2. Set Up Internet: While there is guest Wi-Fi access for the building and campus, this is not always reliable within the apartment units and you may therefore desire to contract for your own internet. Swindoll Tower is wired for Spectrum, while Washington Apartments is wired for AT&T.
  3. Set Up Electricity (Swindoll Only): If you are a new resident in Swindoll Tower, please note that you must contract your own electricity. Contact the Campus Housing Office for helpful resources.
  4. Submit Assistance Animal Paperwork: If you are bringing an assistance animal with you, you must complete and submit the appropriate paperwork identifying your animal as an emotional support or service animal. Please contact the Housing Office for the proper paperwork.
  5. Confirm Move-In Logistics: The Campus Housing Office will reach out to you one week prior to your move to confirm the logistics of your move. If you have questions about your move prior to this, please contact the Campus Housing Office.

Need to Schedule Additional Moves?

If you need more time to move bulky furniture into your apartment outside of the four hours of your move-in reservation, please schedule additional furniture move reservations below:

A Note for Transfers

  • Please check out a loading dock key (if transferring to/from Swindoll) from the Campus Housing Office at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled move.
  • When transferring between buildings, you must schedule a move reservation for each building. Please note that you may not use DTS equipment to move furniture between buildings, only within buildings.
  • When transferring within a building, you must complete your move within one move reservation. If you need additional time, please schedule a furniture move.
